Professor Józef Nedoma scholarship presented
LIDO-LANG Technical Translations is the founder of the Professor Józef Nedoma scholarship for the best students of Comprehensive Secondary School No. 1 in Krakow. The scholarship aims to support the school’s outstanding students who combine their interests in science and technical school subjects with a passion for foreign languages. The scholarship was presented on 22 June during the gala celebrating the end of the school year.
Professor Józef Nedoma’s award has been granted since 2008 and this year’s winner is Bartosz Grabski, a student in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences class, and a prize winner of a number of contests, including the “Diamonds of AGH” awarded by the University of Science and Technology in Krakow. Apart from the sciences, Bartosz is also proficient in foreign languages, thus meeting the criteria of the scholarship fund established under the patronage of Professor Józef Nedoma – a distinguished educator, researcher, and polyglot.
The award was presented at the gala celebrating the end of the school year, which is traditionally held in the Cracow Philharmonic. The prize was handed over to Bartosz by the scholarship founder and LIDO-LANG Technical Translations CEO, Mr Jerzy Nedoma.
The Professor Józef Nedoma scholarship was founded to commemorate the 420th jubilee of the establishment of the Szkoła Nowodworska and the anniversaries of the final examinations of the school’s graduates and LIDO-LANG Technical Translations’ founders: Professor Józef Nedoma (LIDO-LANG Technical Translations Patron), Jerzy Nedoma (CEO at LIDO-LANG Technical Translations) and Andrzej Nedoma (Managing Director at LIDO-LANG Technical Translations). The scholarship aims to propagate Professor Nedoma’s ideas and to support outstanding graduates of the school.
The Professor Józef Nedoma scholarship is only one of the activities within LIDO-LANG Technical Translations’ community involvement. The company also supports the organisation of SLOT Fest, a festival of Eastern cultures held in Krakow, and has recently been awarded a prize in the contest “Mom At Work” for creating a friendly and convenient working environment for young moms.
